A funny thing about Alec Baldwin and his brothers. They grew up here, which is only a few miles from here.

Which makes one wonder if he’d be as famous if he was Alec Massapequa.

Florence Nightingale was actually born in Florence, Italy. Her sister Parthenope was born in Naples (Parthenope is Greek for Naples.)

Tex Avery is from Texas (though I don’t think Tex is his real first name.)

Winona Ryder is from Winona, Minnesota.

Virginia Dare, the first white child born in English America, was named after Virginia, where she lived.

Kobe Bryant is not from Kobe, Japan, but is named after the famous Kobe beef, which his parents saw on a restaurant menu!

Dakota Fanning is from Georgia, and her real name is Hannah (not Savannah.)

Why are Whitney Houston (as in Texas) and Dionne Warwick (as in Rhode Island) both from New Jersey?
