I altered the thread title to make it a little less vague. Too many people (me) were coming in here looking for a discussion of oil paint color-blending and the incidence of clap amongst Tahitian chicks.

NOW my favorite Gauguin is probably the Jacob Wrestling with the Angel. Great non-intuitive use of warm and cool colors to defeat a sense or naturalistic depth. And THAT is the meaning of life.
