Pawlenty drops out

I was going to make this thread titled “Tim Pawlenty: Little Bitch.” What kind of douche would proudly adopt the moniker “T Paw”? This isn’t some cutesy nickname forced upon him on by the media; he has a “Meet T Paw” section on his website. The best part is he seems to attribue his losses to being too real for this sh*t. He’s got “a rational, established, credible strong record of results. …But I think the audience, so to speak, was looking for something different.”

Good riddance…

…not that any of the other candidates are any better.

c.f. Fred Thompson. They both seem to be running in the long ago American where (if I’m remembering what I read correctly) it was considered poor form to actually campaign - the rightness of their candidacies was supposed to be obvious, and lead to an immaculate nomination.

Wait, are we talking about Pawlenty now or Romney?

I think you understand the Gingrich Candidacy pretty well. He hasn’t been relevant in fifteen years, but he’s made a pretty good living since then appearing as a GOP spokesman, fundraiser and idea guy. But you can only milk a stint in gov’t so long till they stop inviting you on to CNN and your image as a party front-man starts to wither. So he’s running so he can attach “GOP Presidential Primary Candidate” to his resume and give talkshow hosts an excuse to keep inviting him on to their TV shows for another decade. He never intended to win the Primary, so unlike Pawlenty, he doesn’t really care if he isn’t “winning”.
