Some friends of mine regularly visit local pawnshops and have gotten some great deals on musical equipment.
Huge fan. I have bought at least 75% of my DVD collection in pawn shops. Other great finds:
Chop saw. $25.00. Does compound cuts.
44" LCD tv. Visio. Perfect image. Sells for 600. I got it for 350 .
10 megapixel Nikon point and shoot. $ 40.00.
Endless hand tools for cheap. Most new hand tools are crap made in China. Pawn shops are a great resource for well made in USA hand tools from 40-60 years ago.
