I, for one, am appalled that those Chicago Reader bastards tried their damndest to give us the board for free as long as they could. How dare they? Fuckers. Those capitalist pigs and their need to pay their employees a salary. They should be working for free, and be damned glad of it. Yeah, count me in on the “sick and tired of the bitching” bandwagon. Raise your hands if you’re in the group of people who would gladly lose $20,000 a year with no expectations of a return on your investment. I think this is the third time this week I’ve made this statement: BUSINESSES EXIST TO MAKE MONEY. The Chicago Reader was very, very generous in allowing this board to exist for as long as it did for free. ---

You apparently didn’t bother to LOOK. Ed Zotti’s thread has been sticky in every forum for a week. There are 6 threads on this forum’s front page right now that mention SDMB subscription issues in the titles. There are 4 in MPSIMS, 5 in IMHO, and a whopping 22 in ATMB. There are a number more that aren’t obvious in the titles but are still about subscriptions. That’s not counting the multitudes that have fallen off the front pages because _people have been talking about nothing else for a week_. And you march in here, spouting off as if you’re bringing a new and hitherto ignored important issue to light, and then act all fluffily offended (“Well, I NEVER!”) because people are griping that this has been done to death? You gotta be kidding. You’re getting off EASY here. Your post could have easily been placed in any one of literally a hundred threads and been totally overlooked because _it’s all been said 100 times before_ already. You been living under a fucking _rock_? SHUT UP! SHUT UP! STFU ALREADY! Cripes. ---

Y’know I would really like a chore monkey. My specifications are as follows: Must be a young and spry monkey (preferably a Capuchin, but I am flexible) Must have good table manners Must wear a tuxedo Needs to be experienced in all aspects of housekeeping Must scavenge for and provide all his own food There was a guy giving away free monkeys in Thailand, but now he is charging 25 baht per monkey. I think all trained monkeys should continue to be free. My inalienable right to free monkey servants is being violated. ---

Since there are 11 threads about the SDMB going to subscription JUST ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE BBQ PIT, I think that it’s pretty damned hard to justify another one. I’m gonna close this one. Oh, and there are threads, multiple threads, in MPSIMS and ATMB about the switch, too. Might be some in other forums, too.
