I’m trying to change the subject line in our PayPal notification e-mails. Currently they look like this: > [@](#): > > \> Date: Wed, 16 Apr 2008 21:54:43 -0700 > \*\* \> Subject: Payment Accepted!\*\* > \> To: [buyer@straightdope.com](mailto:buyer@straightdope.com) > \> From: [seller@straightdope.com](mailto:seller@straightdope.com) > \> > \> Dear John Doe, > \> > \> > \> This email confirms that Richard Roe has accepted the $20.00 USD you sent. > \> > \> > \> > \> ---------------------------------------------------------------- > \> Payment Details > \> ---------------------------------------------------------------- > \> > \> > \> Amount: $20.00 USD > \> Transaction ID: xxxxxxx000000 > \> Subject: That thing you bought > \> > \> > \> To view your PayPal balance or other account information, log in to > the PayPal website. > \> It may take a few moments for this transaction to appear in the > Recent Activity list on your Account Overview. > \> Thank you for using PayPal! > \> > \> Sincerely, > \> PayPal How can I change that **“Payment Accepted!”** line? We’ve gotten complaints from buyers that they thought it was spam because of it. I’d like to put in something more professional, but PayPal’s documentation is for so convoluted and crappy, I can’t find out if it’s possible. ---
