My membership is about to lapse, so after I received my notification email (thanks guys!) I went to renew. The only payment option was Paypal-- is that correct or am I missing a link for credit cards? Thanks! ---

Jerry mentioned [earlier](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=10174883#post10174883) that payment processing will be going through Paypal from now on. But, if you follow through to the Paypal site, it gives you the option of using a credit card (Visa, MC, Amex, or Discover). So, without going through the payment motions myself, I believe that should work for you. ---

As I’ve said before, that’s why I may not renew. After some problems, my partner has asked me not to give Paypal a credit card number, and with no other payment options, that’s it. ---

That is bad news for me, too. I cannot use Paypal because of a dispute. One time I used them, I did not receive what I had ordered, so I requested a refund. But Paypal does not refund to Thailand, presumably because of the high level of fraud here; instead they said they would give me a credit. So I simply had my credit-card company cancel payment. This did not go down very well with Paypal, but there was nothing they could do. So again, no credit-card option, no renewal for me. ---

My understanding is that you’re not actually using a Paypal account (unless you have an account with them and want to use it). You’re just using Paypal as a credit card processor, so you just fill in the normal credit card info and off you go. ---

We’ll see in January!
