Hi,
I have a quick question. If youre using paypal to pay for something and you need more money than what is in your balance will paypal take the remaining money out of the bank account you have with them?(for me, a checking account) thanks!

Yes, in fact you should see ‘funding options’ as a link in the screen where you process the payment (before sending it) - I think it’s possible to fund a payment from your bank account and leave your PayPal balance intact - although maybe not - I’ve never tried it. Certainly you have some control over the way transactions are funded, but by default, they will use your PayPal balance and top it up with your primary funding method, which might be a bank account.
