# Pc's may lose Internet July 9. Have you used FBI's link to check for it?

I recall this case coming up a year or so ago. FBI busted a hacker group and discovered they were running a rouge dns that this virus set up on potentially thousands of computers. FBI had a problem. Kill the rouge dns and these computers would instantly lose internet connectivity.

The FBI kept the rouge dns up to give people time to scan and fix their computers. The FBI will shut down the rogue dns server July 9. Anyone infected will go down too. I’d really hate losing my friends on the sdmb. 😉

:smack: I meant rogue dns. It’s the correct technical name for a fake dns. But you can smear rouge on the server if it makes you happy. 😉
