PDA's, Which is better?

All right guys, after much consideration I am going for the Handspring Visor. Now, I just have to decide between the Deluxe (cheapest), Edge (cool as hell), or the Prism (the screen’s in color). I guess it is just going to come down to the money factor. Thanks for all your input though. It really helped a lot.

All I could figure out is P=Personal, so that’s why I asked

Well, Amp, between the Deluxe and the Edge we find the Platinum, which is what I have. It has basically the same specs as the Edge (8 MB of memory, like the Deluxe, but the processor’s all pimped out to 33 mhz), but it’s not all sleek and metallic, so it’s not as expensive. Price it on CNet and you should be able to find it for about $230, I think.

I’m new to the whole PDA thing, so I couldn’t give you much of an informed opinion, but as a neophyte, I loves me some Visor Platinum. It does everything I need it to, and the USB Hotsync with my Mac could not be easier. I’m actually keeping track of my checking account for the first time in my life, just because I have so much fun noodling around with the damned thing. It’s too bad I already have a cell, or I’d be all over their $50 Visorphone offer.

Another happy Visor owner chiming in… better value for money, the expansion slot, don’t break down as easily (trust me, I’ve got enough friends with messed up Palms).

Plus, don’t worry about processor speed. With a few hacks, my Visor Deluxe runs at 33 Mhz easily. Sure, it’ll burn batteries a little faster.

The Prism would be nice for the colour screen - and the Edge is nice if size REALLY matters. But the Deluxe does what it does just fine if money’s a factor.

Also consider that monochrome displays are very easy to use in bright light (e.g. outdoors), but difficult to see in dim light (e.g. conference halls, buses). The color display is the exact opposite. I switched from a monochrome Palm V to the color Palm IIIc because the backlit color display allows me to take notes at conferences.
