Paul Newman is making these too now… and man, they are the best. Recees will run and hide in shame. Three different varieties: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and also a dark chocolate/mint mix… Watch out for your diets!! If you see these candies, try and ignore them!! I didn’t! Now I have to eat salad all day today… 🙂 But it was worth it. 🙂 A girl ---

Hmmm, in my opinion it’ll be hard to beat those Reeses peanut butter easter eggs. You know the ones I’m talking about? The peanut butter is way too sweet and has that strange mealy-gritty texture, and is covered with just the right amount of that over processed chocolate/confectioners wax stuff that has such a low melting tempature it’s sure to get all over the kids easter clothes? The peanut butter eggs are awesome. The cups are good too, but if you’ve ever gotten ahold of a bad PB cup (where the PB is all dried out and crumbly) it makes you wary when you go to buy some. The eggs are always nice and fresh. ---

I am sorry, but it is time I make a definitive stand on a moral issue here. Peanut butter is awful. I mean, awful, and possibly even offal. It’s just the worst. I have no idea why so many people like peanut butter. I can’t stand it. Never have been able to. Oddly, I like peanuts – but don’t anyone dare trot out the canard that peanuts taste like peanut butter. They don’t. Peanut butter is destructive of all that is good and righteous with mankind. Bricker, When I was a tiny child, one could buy a marvelous product called “Koogle.” Koogle was peanut butter, but somehow _more_ than peanut butter. You could get it in cinammon, vanilla, chocolate, and banana. I am sure that exposure to Koogle would have proved to you that peanut butter is good and wonderful and the source of much joy. I understand that one of the major peanut butter brands has just begun marketing varieties with chocolate chips and such, but it isn’t the same. Mourning Koogle, Rose * * * Gamera is really neat, he is full of turtle meat, we’ve been eating Gam-er-aaaa… ---

Peanut butter candies are just about my faves, but I resist buying them in egg shapes, specially packages **and specially priced** for easter. I was gonna pick up a box a few days ago when I realized that they had gotten a little smaller. It used to take a few bites to finish one off, now they’re bite-sized. What’s more, the price-per-pound is up around $8.00, just because they’re egg-shaped & packaged for Easter? I though maybe OPEC had gotten their dirty hands on our peanut butter supply, but a walk down the regular candy aisle proved me wrong- good ole peanut butter cups still sell for about $2.50 a pound. Bastards! ---

If it hadn’t been for peanut butter, I would have died as a child. Luckily, I learned to eat other things, but it got me through years of grade school. Peanut butter cups are wonderful. Bricker, are you in some way related to the Mars family? They will have nothing to do with peanut butter. The one and only peanut butter product their factories produced (in answer to Reese’s Pieces) was pulled before it had a chance. Anything blending chocolate/peanut butter will have to be produced by the Hershey half of the chocolate wars. ---

Well, I knew that making a courageous moral stand would bring out the baying and yelping of those committed to the Dark Side (or, at least, the Light Brown Side). **Jeannie** , your husband sounds like a fine, upstanding, and above all _sane_ man. Hold on to him, and perhaps hsi influence can yet save you. **Gazoo** , I have to admit I can’t quite recall how circus peanuts taste… so I’m not sure. **Rose** , with all due respect, you seem like a wonderful person… but in my view, if one adds chocolate, cinnamon, and allspice to raw sewage, one does not thereby improve the product. So it is with your description of Koogle. **MrKnowItAll** , I will pray for your immortal soul, since it is clearly in danger. 🙂 **Doug Bowe** , I am not, so far as I’m aware, actually related to the Mars family, but their philosophy of peanut butter exclusion has my unending admiration. And finally **kawliga**. Do you know how many times people have tried to get me to like peanut butter by bringing out some evil paste that purported to be “fresh roasted peanut taste,” “natural peanut taste,” or some similar malarkey? I have gamely tried these things, and always leave disgusted. That said, I admit that I don’t specifically recall trying Jif’s version. I may have, of course, and then subsequently blocked it from my mind, in the manner of a hideous auto accident or the Clinton presidency. But - I’m a fair person. If you are sure that this brand can do what years of effort have failed to do… tell you what. I’ll go buy a small jar today. I am nothing if not fairminded. 🙂 - Rick ---

Their peanut butter treasures are disgusting. Nothing close to Reeses. I will look for Newmans. I am always looking for new ways to expand my horizons. (and waistline) Bricker, you’re wierd man.
