Isn’t somebody going to try it? I thought many of you were scientists.
I would, buy I don’t have any pb or briquettes. If I did, I’d look on the bag and see how to spell it.
I’m gonna keep this and think about it.
I’m dying to know.
I need a joint.
Peace,

I’d try it. I’m moving soon, and the microwave is an old piece of crap. I was planning on leaving it behind anyway. Unfortunately, I don’t have any charcoal. It’s kind of hard to come by this time of year. Can I substitute something else, like used socks or styrofoam coffee cups? I have lots of those. 😛

I’ve got just the space on my mantle for it! It’ll go great right next to the midget field hockey championship trophy!

I’m pretty sure those would produce similar\* diamonds, yes.

I don’t have a cite, but I read somewhere that eveytime one uses an acetylene torch, they create tiny diamonds.

Ok, the question of having a Microwave running with nothing in it has been answered.
My ex-wife would use the microwave as a timer for my daughters math homework. I told her, I said “Thou shalt not run your micorwave, thou shalt verily maketh the micorwave go _foomph_ and great havoc and bewailing shall be incurred!”

She didn’t listen. She ran it several times, for 7 minutes each time. About the 5th or 6th time, apparently it arced like a _Mother F\*\*ker_, and made a cool Zzzzt sound.

She had fried it. The beast was dead, Jim.

When I opened this thread, I knew I would find some good comments. I actually thought I may try to make a funny.
I’d never be able to beat that line though. Thanks:)

Ok, cool. But, since it apparently took a rather long time (what, like 35 minutes? 7 min. x 5 times?), it might be that accidentally letting it run for a few minutes (such as after forgetting to clear the timer when taking something out early) won’t blow up your kitchen. However it could be that it could happen at any time, and I was just extremely lucky. Interesting.
