Another excellent [comic](http://news.yahoo.com/comics/080221/cx_pearls_umedia/20082102;_ylt=AtHRwC4MltZrFFDm1lcn6mQD_b4F) by Pastis.

I prefer today’s [Non Sequitur](http://www.gocomics.com/nonsequitur/2008/02/21/).

_:: Shrug ::_ I don’t think Pastis’s self-referential strips are excellent, I think they’re boring. To me, this one is just _Ooh, look how dark and edgy I am!_ and _This strip sure as hell ain’t Ziggy!_ (No shit.)

I think _Pearls_ has moments of sheer brilliance, especially when focusing on the sweet naivete of Pig. (Pig to his own reflection in a pond, “You remind me of my other friend, Mr. Medicine Cabinet Guy.”) The ones where Pastis uses the strip to comment on the strip – those aren’t very interesting or funny to me.

You have issues with Captain Janeway, too, don’t you?
