Anyone remember when Pat Boone did that album of heavy metal covers? There are also albums of Metallica and Rush songs performed by string quartets. Strangest song I ever heard on Muzak? KISS’ “Heaven’s On Fire”. And then there was “One Toke Over The Line” by some people on the Lawrence Welk Show. Haven’t seen any references to Dread Zeppelin here, unless they’re embedded. They’re the band who did (maybe still do) Led Zeppelin songs reggae style, and the singer is an Elvis impersonator. I’ve seen them twice; the first time was one of the best concerts I’ve ever attended. ---

Several years after it was a hit, we played that in junior high concert band. :o Tori Amos did a cover of “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, and how about Aztec Camera’s remake of Van Halen’s “Jump”, recorded just a few months after the original topped the charts? ---
