They’re long gone (for example, they’re anti-vax because of all the aborted baby parts). I’ve never even met the youngest ones. I had only opened Facebook to find a friend’s business post and give it a little boost, and instead my feed was actually working for some reason. ---

Truly a min-rant, but it pisses me off mightily. I had about a 3/4 loaf of sliced bread on the counter that was way past its BB date, so while out shopping yesterday I bought a fresh loaf. To the best of my knowledge, I took the stale loaf off the counter and put it into the “recycling and dry bulk garbage” bin that I regularly take out. Later, I took it out and sorted it into the garbage and recycling bins. This morning I noticed that there was no bread on the counter at all. The “recycling and dry bulk garbage” bin contained a loaf of bread, but it was the old expired stuff. I went out to peer into the big outdoor garbage bin, and there was my new fresh loaf lying there, looking up at me. No, that was not coming back into the house. Out of sheer frustration, I drove out early this morning to the closest local supermarket and got a new loaf of bread, and, bonus, picked up a few other things. But I’m pretty sure that I’m becoming afflicted with some subtype of dementia. ---

I can’t say whether or not ‘the zoomies’ means that a dog has ‘left you a present’. I can say with absolute surety that ‘the zoomies’ means a cat has left you a present. Maybe you misunderstood what we were discussing? ---

I have never connected presents with _zoomies_ from either cats or dogs and I have experienced both. In my perspective _zoomies_ means the animal galloping through the house bouncing off furniture and walls with reckless abandon until they tire. ---

About 2 months ago, we asked kiddo if he felt he needed new sneakers to start the school year. He said no, the two pairs he has are fine. Now, they’re both too tight, pinching his toes. Damn kid keeps growing which isn’t actually my rant, but he wants another pair just like his current indoor shoes and it seems they are out of stock everywhere, certainly in his size. They seem like a pretty standard model that the brand puts out every year with minor stitching variations but there aren’t any available _right now_. And he’s kind of hitting that “largest kid size/smallest men’s size” zone, so I’m looking at both. I’ve found some online but he really needs to try them on to confirm fit and sizing. Are sneakers like, seasonal? Do all new ones come out again after Thanksgiving or something? ---

My struggle with trying to source reliable LED bulbs for enclosed fixtures is beginning to remind me of this: [![](https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/reviews.png) ](https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/reviews.png) It also reminds me of searching reviews when buying a new washing machine. Guess what? According to teh interwebs, **there are no good washing machines**. They are all crap. Just read the reviews! I eventually bought one based on my own experience and judgment, and it’s been just fine. The XKCD comic expresses a profound truth! ---
