Some people not only eat them, they recommend\* letting them get stale\* before eating them.

I had never had them before, not being of the Easter-celebrating persuasion, but somebody brought a box into the office the other day and I was informed that they were God’s gift to man.
He can keep them.

I actually like Peeps. Kick me and abuse me, but I do.
I like them best toasted gently over a fire, like with regular marshmallows, so that the sugar on the outside caramelizes and creates a thin, crisp, shell with a gooey inside.

Regular Peeps are gross, but I had (at Halloween) chocolate mousse Peeps (cat shaped) that were fuckin Awesome.
Haven’t seen them except that Halloween though - hopefully they will be more widely available.

I like peeps. I like stale peeps even more, but this! Whoo - this sounds delicious! Too bad we can’t get peeps here. Maybe there will be some Easter leftovers on sale when we go to the States in June. Should have a near perfect consistency by then.
Then I will roast them in fire until they swell and nearly blacken and then I will eat their warm gooey sweet little carcasses. Mmmmmm…

They’re colourful, sugar-coated sugar-puffs, maybe it’s just the child in me, but I really don’t see how anyone could go wrong with that combination.
I like Baker’s idea of roasting them over a fire, never tried it but it’s now a must-do.

A friend of mine buys Peeps every year. He slits the plastic open and sets them in the kitchen cabinet. Then, the _next Easter_, he eats them. That’s right. He lets them get stale for a year. Horrifyingly, they don’t mold, they just get really hard. :eek:

I just had a Peep seconds before reading this thread. In a few minutes I expect my blood sugar to spike and then rapidly bottom out.
