Haven’t had one in years, but the other day while picking up the easter candy, I just had to have them.
Well, I still haven’t opened them, but I bought them anyway.
Did you guys see that they came out with a strawberry cream peep? It’s a pretty big egg shaped one. Never saw those before.
And yes, I giggled and thought of Persephone.
So, I am going to take my peeps to work with me and share my sugar filled feast with the others who are stuck working till 4am Sunday morning. Hell, we need something to give us that rush.

I personally can’t stand them but the website it cute…I posted this last year too! My Easter contribution to the SDMB I guess.

Aren’t Peeps close relatives with Circus Peanuts? I always thought that they were just decoration and nobody actually ate the nasty things!

When I was a kid we had this wonderful dog Rusty. Rusty would eat anything…except Peeps. Sort of like my brother and I.
We did find that Peeps made a good substitute for Nerf balls, however.

Peeps are too cute to be eaten, at least the traditional chicken ones. (Seen the rabbit ones? Rabbits can’t be peeps! Rabbits don’t SAY peep!)
I saw a website once where they subjected a whole bunch of peeps to scientific experiments (will they burn? do they explode in the microwave? what happens when you boil them?)

Gaaaaaagggggggg…I wouldn’t eat those nasty things if somebody paid me.
First off, I hate marshmallow ANYTHING.
Second, the texture is reminiscent of spoiled styrofoam.

I am a true chocoholic. No…really. I live for it and it alone. But Cadbury eggs??? _Those_ are the most disgusting, vile, SICKENING choco-bastards since the creation of all things edible. I don’t enjoy eating what looks like pus running out of my chocolate. :mad: My teeth nearly rotted to the gum the first time I made the sad mistake of having a tiny bite. _(shivering…remembering that taste)_

That said, I still buy the little puffs of sugar for my daughter. She won’t eat them though. She thinks they’re adorable and doesn’t want to hurt any of them. After they turn to concrete, I chunk 'em…when she’s not home. Otherwise she’ll make me give them a funeral in the backyard.

At a Dopefest in Toldeo last year, I toasted one over a grill, on the end of a sword. We microwaved them (they get HUGE), put them in a frying pan with other fancy foods and photographed them, cut their heads off and switched them around, and made them do many other lewd and lascivious things. But I think **UncleBeer** took the cake by marking the home where this fest was held…by nailing Peeps to the mailbox post.
They call me Persephone, Slayer of Peeps. Heh.

I made this huge Easter Basket for my co-workers this past week, with Cadbury eggs, and Dove chocolate, and Hershey’s candy covered eggs, and…oodles of other stuff. And peeps. Guess what disappeared first?

**Home of the Braves** should pop her head in here… maybe I’ll point her in the right direction.
She’s a Peeps _addict_… or was until the year that she got something like 60 or 70 **BOXES** from her mom, her boyfriend and myself.
I knew there was something I forgot to get her this year! 😉

I can’t stand those things. My kids - the human garbage disposals - won’t even eat them.

Mmmmm…cadbury eggs are food of the gods.
And Peeps are from the Devil’s Bakesale. They’re so nasty. Super sweet-and then that horrid aftertaste from the coloring.

I’ve always loved Peeps, only the yellow ones though. The other colors taste funny. What’s best is leaving them in your Easter basket til they get a little stale and chewy.
I agree with SilkyThreat about Cadbury Eggs. The inside looks too much like raw egg oozing out.
