The more I see people getting worked up over this, the more I can’t believe it’s a story. _This is an inherently political play about social justice throughout American history._ Anyone not expecting shit to get political at this play is an idiot, and the message that the cast delivered was so over-the-top diplomatic and gracious I am baffled that people could take offense. Not even Pence was offended. ETA: I happen to think booing _anyone_ is rude, so I do not support the booing. But the cast of Hamilton specifically requested that the booing cease. ---

Actor here. Haven’t read the rest of the thread. I find this incident hideously rude, inappropriate, and unprofessional. Audience members are guests, and are to be treated respectfully. One does not call them out by name and ambush them with a political statement like the cast did. Content is irrelevant. Pence did not consent to being a part of the show. He was there as a private citizen. He should not have been singled out for a lecture. The cast is perfectly free to express their ideas in any appropriate forum. A curtain speech is not an appropriate forum. ---

Oakminsters post brings a question to my mind. Were ALL the cast and crew asked if they were okay with this? Not just the message but whether it was a proper/professional thing to do in general? ---
