Most ER’s have a long file of strange things “accidentally” ending up in the rectum/penis/vagina. I was pretty sure that it well-understood that this was no accident. That’s what I assumed, anyway. ---

Actually, the authors do state that these cases are self-inflicted and intentional. The statement you cite is their amazement that the fish made it to the bladder, rather than getting caught in the eurethra. They do cite the boy’s description of how it occurred, which is where the accidental part of it comes in. The boy’s description is that the fish “slipped” in. Which is my original quote and comment. ---
