Good advice, Melanie. Doggie puts much more pressure on the wall of the vagina also. My GF and I tried it once but it was too uncomfortable for her. By the way, its amazing how many men feel they need to weigh in with comments about how big their own dick is in threads like this. Although tempted to boast about my own length, I will resist. 🙂 ---

Stay away from doggy, anything involving your knees pulled to your chest or your legs wrapped around his body, at least until you get accustomed to it. Spooning works, as does the CAT…like missionary, but he lies higher up, so the penetration isn’t as deep, but there’s more pressure on your clit. If it does hurt, don’t worry, it’ll only be for the first couple of times or so, then you’ll get used to it (I’m in an LDR, which means every 4 weeks we have to start from scratch again, so I can sympathise). As for making you come first, pros and cons to that one. Orgasm causes CONTRACTION of the muscles, which might not be what you’re after. Personally, I have to wait about 5 minutes for everything to relax, but again YMMV. ---

My hubby is a fair amount larger than your boyfriend. The main problem it causes for us is oral, not vaginal, compounded unfortunately by my TMJ. The solution has been much of what others here have suggested–just get creative. As far as intercourse itself, there are certain positions that are more painful than others. The key, really, is his sensitivity. Hubby watches my face (sometimes a little too intently; “No, hon, that’s pleasure, not pain!”), and I let him know when he’s (ow) hitting my cervix (ow ow). Woman on top is good, missionary is good, spooning is very good, pile-driver (I think that’s what it’s called) is good, but needs to be handled with care. On all fours is difficult, but manageable. Just experiment (and that’s always fun!) and see what works best for you! ---

Wow, this thread is an education. I had NO idea that bumping the cervex (which I tend to do sometimes) would cause cramping. My girlfriend complains that she is sore after sometimes, could this be it? I’m a little over 6" (did I just write that on the internet!?), but that seems to be a tad too large for her. Magnum condoms, are they absurdly large or would someone of my size fit comfortably? I have noticed an uncomfortable snugness on many of the condoms I’ve tried in the past. As to the OP and penis size, some good advice listed above. From behind causes problems for me and the GF, and standard missionary can be a problem when I thrust too deeply, but I can usually control the depth better from there so it doesn’t happen too often. She also enjoys being on top, more control. ---

A regular condom should be able to stretch around the top of your head as I saw some lady giving a demo of such. I prefer cammo condoms so she can’t see me coming. ---

**Bongmaster** , we saw a difference between the Magnum condoms and the “regular” sized ones. Granted, they all stretch, but some are a little tighter stretch than others. For the curious, it’s been posted before so here it is again…hubby is 8.5". I tease him I like to round it up and say he’s 9", but that just is a big no-no for him. Says it’s against male etiquette, or something! I’d think that at 6" the Magnums would be a bit big, but one never knows. BTW, not sure about hitting the cervix causing cramping per se. For me it’s an immediate pain–not severe, just uncomfortable. Reminds me of when I’d fall crotch-first on a balance beam (not the pain factor, but the feeling-it-in-my-teeth factor). I do sometimes cramp after, but that seems to be dependent on the month. Orgasms seem to shake up and/or speed up the cramping process. ---

Odd, my SO sometimes orgasms if the cervix gets bumped a few times on the penetration trail. I guess it’s more of a nudge than a slap when it happens, though. Of course, that was back when we actually had regular sex. ☹ ---

Diameter is also a factor - that’s more of an issue for my husband than length, and he finds that normal condoms squeeze too tightly for his comfort. ---
