# pentax optio s12 usb cable

I seem to have misplaced the cable for this camera. Can anyone tell me if I need to get a specific cable or if it is a generic cable? I found [one on ebay](http://cgi.ebay.com/6ft-USB-Cable%2FCord-for-Pentax-Optio-S-12-Camera-FREE-SH_W0QQitemZ250436040275QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090602?IMSfp=TL090602154005r35915) for $6 plus shipping.

Of course, if I do actually buy anything, I will find the old cable the day the new one arrives.

Look at [these connector types](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usb#Types_of_USB_connector). If one of those is what you have, any USB cable with a matching connector should do. Unless the cable was proprietary in any way, in which case it should not have the [USB symbol](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:USB_Icon.svg) next to it.
