My great grandmother got a ticket for indecent exposure in the 30s for taking off the skirt portion of her bathing suit, leaving on the leggings, top, etc.
And here is a picture of a man in the 30s getting a ticket for the same thing. he appears to be wearing a sports bra. Of course, that was in the Netherlands.

The bicycle picture comes just after I finished reading an article on the “Iron Riders”, an all black bicycle corps in 1897 who rode a 1900 mile trek from Montana over mountains and plains to St. Louis. That’s a Chris Rock movie waiting to happen. Pic.
