How many people in the world are 7’3" or taller? I recently met a guy who is 7’3" (2.21m), and he claims to have ever seen only 4 people who are as tall as he is, or taller . . . and they are all related to him. (Yes, he’s taller than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.) ---

Global numbers are impossible to find. Anyone that tall is listed in the “over” category of whatever the last number is. According to the CDC ([link-pdf](http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhsr/nhsr010.pdf)), only 5% of the US male population is over **6** ’3". Another foot on top of that is likely down to double digits globally or maybe low triple, if you take Darth Panda’s link and assume 7’3" or higher. I would think that every inch over 7’ is probably another standard deviation. ---

Just off the top of my head I can think of a half dozen NBA players 7’3" or taller: Mark Eaton, Rik Smits, Manute Bol, Avydas Sabonis, Shawn Bradley, Zydrunas Ilgausakas How could I forget Yao? ---
