You should hold the door open for people. That’s common courtesy. However, if for any random reason you fail to do this, do you require a “get out of jail free” card in order to avoid being considered sub-human? Not hardly. Failure to perform courtesies does not equate to being an asshole.

If you’re right behind someone walking into a store, and they let the door close in your face, rather than take 2 seconds to hold it open for you, you wouldn’thave the random “What an asshole” comment flit across your mind?

Maybe it’s just the withering look my mom always gave me growing up if I didn’t hold the door open for people behind me…

Actually, lezlers, most of my ire was directly at people with that attitude of Bill Door, who was stating in post #6 that it wasn’t his fucking job.
