I don’t get the “bitterness” either. If a person doesn’t have kids of their own, it’s very likely they see their nieces and nephews as the next best thing. Especially if they are very close to them. ---

Obviously any childless woman must be bitter, because if they aren’t birthing any babies what could be the point of their existence? :rolleyes: ---

I remember those days, when my child was small. I talked about her all the time because my whole life centered around her. I was a SAHM, didn’t go anywhere much, didn’t do anything too interesting. So I talked about TV shows and books a lot, but if whoever I was talking to wasn’t interested, well… let me tell you what the school sent home in her backpack the other day, and the problem she is having waking up at night… These days I talk about my cat and how furry he gets in the winter, what a mess his coat becomes as he sheds, and this year, dammit, I’m getting him a kitty haircut for the summer, but where to take him for that?? ---
