yeah i’d also be curious to see what threads he’s talking about. there are some nice child-free folks here, it seems kinda obnoxious to make sweeping generalizations. and then compare then to racists.:rolleyes: ---

He clearly is calling out only angry, bitter posters (of which there may or may not be any). At no point can an intelligent, sane person read his post and think he’s slamming on every person who is childless by choice. I think the OP can be summarized as : “There’s nothing wrong with hating kids as long as you keep your yap shut about it.” You have to know that if you insult a group of people, those people and others sort of like them are going to get insulted and react. Which makes for a dandy pit thread. Children are not adults - they are more emotional, and generally louder. Children live on the same planet as we do. So even folks who would never have kids should be aware of basic child behavior and not get completely bent out of shape when a child fails to act just like an adult might. And it’s not fair to blame said child’s parents if they can’t instill proper impulse control in a young child so that they never act up. And, as some one who understands this, it is tiring to read poster after poster who appears oblivious to these basic facts. As many have said, if you don’t want to be around kids, go some place where kids do not go such as a bar or a brothel. Kid-haters are a sub-set of group of people who seem to find it a badge of honor to know as little as possible about the world around them. I listen to scads of young adults bragging about how poorly they cook, how terrible they are with money, and how wacked out their priorities are in general. ---

Ok, I’ll be an example! I hate children. With a fiery, burning passion that consumes my soul. Just today I yelled at a kid riding his bike up and down my driveway. (It makes the dog bark.) They’re not funny, they’re not cute, and they contribute nothing to society. Don’t pay taxes? Get out of my sight. They are messy, loud, stupid, and useless. On two occasions I have kicked small children. Don’t hand me your baby unless you want something horrible to happen to it. Ok. Flame away! ---

Childless people aren’t stupid…they know kids are half-baked. That doesn’t lessen the fact that if you don’t dig 'em, they’re a drag to be around. By the way, I am not one of them. I just understand where they’re coming from. I love kids. I used to have one. I get giggly when I get to see his girlfriend’s keeblers. ---

Once you create a child, you’re responsible for their existence and every bad thing they go through. And as soon as someone is created, it means someday they will die. I would have forced someone to face that. And just like my friend who didn’t have kids because she couldn’t bear to have them get diabetes too, I don’t want to create a person who will have the same emotional issues I do. So in short, fuck off. You don’t live my life so don’t assume you understand it. ---

Now, I am as big a W.C. Fields fan as they come, but crap like calling people with kids “breeders” and calling kids “spawn” is just sad. We’ve all seen it (never in real life, of course). Don’t like kids? Great, do your hypothetical children a favor and don’t have any. Leave the rest of us alone while we perpetuate the human race. ---
