# People who have one-sided conversations

I am curious if anyone has 1) ever pulled someone to the side to inform them they are making folks lose their mind and 2) if so, did it work?

I’m kind of thinking about telling my coworker to STFU. But based on previous “frank” moments I’ve had with her, I expect it would be both unpleasant for the both of us and pointless in the long run. I don’t know how what the Miss Manners approach would be. Any ideas?

I quote Miss Manners. "Lean forward, look in her/his eyes and say: “but enough about me-tell me about yourself”. Miss Manners offers this suggestion in the desperate hope that it might stun the lady into momentary confusion, during which she will be blessedly quiet. There is little hope of effecting a longer cure for a determined bore.
