People with an Aversion to Changing Toilet Paper Roll

Sometimes, I go into people’s bathrooms and squeeze their toothpaste tubes in the middle.:stuck_out_tongue:

Do you fold the end into a little triangular point, too?

Yeah, that little cardboard tube is why … it’s actually evil, but only spirit people can tell.

All of them are evil even the paper towels ones too … I think it’s some evil person in Idaho or the State of Montana that operates the machine that puts the toilet paper on the little cardboard tube and the cutting machine whacks that in to the smaller rolls must be evil too.

It can’t be the truck driver or the stock boy in the grocery store or even the cashier. Must be the first person that touches the paper tubing.

I’ve narrowed down to him or her maybe even lol

Do you leave the cap off, too?

I personally find it easier to use to be on a shelf or in reach countertop and more inconvenient to use on a ‘roll’ hanger device.

BTW: You guys do know there are roll holders that are just a bar attached at one end so you can slip the roll on and off as you like, right? Like this one.

Yes but why when it is so much easier on a shelf.

I’m probably guilty of this, but my wife will never say a word about it. That’s because I’m inevitably the one who digs the soapy hair clogs out of the bathtub and sink drains, even though it patently ain’t me who’s making them. :stuck_out_tongue:

funny I would have said just the opposite.
I don’t like the TP hanging off the back and that is actually an incorrect way to do it. However we have a cat who sometimes gets this idea in his little cat brain that he MUST go into the bathrooms and unroll some toilet paper. If it’s hanging down at all he can grab it. If not hanging but would hang down the front, he can also grab it by pawing at the roll. But he can’t do it if it’s situated to hang off the back, so that’s how we hang it. We have to give the roll a little flip to start it and then remember to crank it back up, so nothing is hanging down–and even though this is a very small thing we all find it VERY irritating.

Eventually this cat gives up and we can go back to hanging it the right, natural, Hotel Maid Approved way.

Hee. Yes, I am guilty of this too and I have my own bathroom. Rolls sit on the toilet tank or on the floor but rarely make it to the holder. But when they do, they are positioned with the paper up and over the front.

I may have to get one of them new-fanged holders shown upthread.

ETA: Classic TV moment:

No, but thanks for the idea!

Kill them. Kill them with fire.

I don’t care if the toilet paper is hung on some kind of doohicky whatsit. In fact I would rather it wasn’t. So when I had the bathroom redone I did not include a doohickey whatsit of any kind and now I am happy

What was your solution for where to put the TP?

I hate it when that happens. Somehow the springy part always winds up behind the toilet and I have to crawl on the floor to retrieve it.

My boyfriend never puts a new roll on at his place, it’s always just the cardboard tube on the hanger and the roll setting on the back of the tank. But he always changes the roll if he uses the last of the paper at my place, so I really don’t complain.

And sometimes they don’t even have a springy part – just two parts and a spring in between. Then you end up with one part in your hand, one part on the other side of the room, and the spring bouncing off who knows where.

Seconded. Seems a bit rude for a guest to take it upon themselves to “correct” the host, who probably has good reason for his/her way of doing things.

Noooo, it’s the man, at least, it’s the one who lives here that puts it on upside down. He used to do it out of ignorance, but now, he does it to laugh at me when I fix it. A little OCD is a good thing!

I do on line surveys. Yeah, I know, but I enjoy it. One survey was about TP. Yes, it was as stupid as it sounds.

The results of that survey were interesting. First, it seems that the over/under battle is unisex. There was no correlation. It was economic. Those with household incomes in the lower third were generally unders.
The overs were better educated and had more disposable income.

So, is it that smart people are naturally overs or does over make you smart?

Considering 85% of people hang it over the front according to surveys conducted by TP companies, there’s no way this observation is true. You hang it the right way, and your wife is simply one of those other people.

Then buy the type I have a my house, there’s no spring loaded removable part. Amazon.com: iDesign Plastic Wall Mount Paper Holder, Dispenser for Master, Guest, Kid's Bathroom, 6.95" x 7.4" x 1.45", Toilet Tissue Bar : Tools & Home Improvement
