Well, to be completely honest, Asian cultures _do_ value money rather highly, but not in the obsessive “crush-every-motherfucker-to-grab-a-penny-out-of-the-gutter” way that was implied above. I find that it does get annoying sometimes. ---

I’d say Asian cultures value postgraduate education and “professional” careers more highly; we’re all supposed to go off and become doctors and lawyers and engineers and accountants and so on. ---
