I have a lot of favorite movies, but I would say that the only one I could consider to be perfect was…

**Who Framed Roger Rabbit** - A technical masterpiece with brilliant acting, hilarious jokes, and a tight plot that never lets you get bored.

If there were any movie I could watch over and over again and never get bored with, it’d be that one.

_And look there is no pain… no pain… no pain… no pain…_ 😃

As long as you’ve seen _La Grande Illusion_, can you tell me why von Stroheim’s character was wearing that device under his jaw that apparently made it impossible for him to bend his spine?

Hannah and Her Sisters

Almost Famous

The Godfather 1, 2

The Untouchables

Bullets over Broadway

It’s a Wonderful Life

Roman Holiday

This is Spinal Tap

Amadeus

Waking Ned Divine

> The combined wisdom of the movie-loving folks over at IMDB yielded a whole section of [best-in-genre lists of movies.](http://www.imdb.com/user/ur23892615/lists)
>
> My goal is to watch everything on their top lists, such as this one of the [twenty most underrated movies](http://www.imdb.com/list/p1FIBuuLk_Y/)…

Thanks for this list. I’ve seen most of them, and one, I think at least one deserves to be in this thread –_Falling Down_ – the film with Michael Douglas in a meltdown.

In action films, the all time gold standard is still _The Terminator_. Relentless, thrilling, holds up to the present day.

For maybe an outlier, I’m going with _Risky Business_, just absolutely perfect for the genre of teen films.

Another outlier comedy, _As Good As It Gets_. The plot concept itself is a bit of a stretch, but once you buy it the execution of it is perfect.

> To me a “perfect movie” is one you might present to a film school class to show them a movie that is perfect in every department. That includes plotting, character development, acting, cinematography, pacing, editing, scoring, costumes, art direction, etc.

I still think that _Die Hard_ is the most perfect little gem of a movie by these standards.
