# Perhaps we should raise the voting age, uh?

If we’re talking about diminishing the electoral impact of old people, maybe instead of “death panels” you could set up “vote panels”, where a committee of experts decides if a particular senior should retain the franchise.

Or just give everybody a palm crystal and eventually send them to Carousel. Renew! Renew! Soylent Grey is made outta old people!

Or just set them adrift on an ice floe. I’m only half kidding. I don’t think people who have no stake in the future should have such disproportionate influence in how we plan for it.

Respect is not a right that comes with age, nor is it something that once you achieve it you have it for life, respect must be earned continuously
