Just ran across this brutally interesting site: [Museum of Menstruation](http://mum.org/pastgerm.htm) – link is to a history page about how women handled this in the more and the less recent past. One thing this page notes is that the Greek physician Hippocrates may have observed that a woman’s general sense of well-being improved after Aunt Flow left and thereby deduced that bloodletting must be a good thing for the illing. ---

I think the idea was they felt better once they started bleeding, i.e. they were no longer premenstrual. ---

I have 5 sisters, from older to younger than I. Mom didn’t mess around with instruction for boys who were not paying attention. We learned pretty quick. Never been a problem for me reading the desire for sex or willing to have this or that kind of sex from women I have been around who I am being intimate with. But I’m old and usually didn’t even expect to get sex on the second date which seems to be the norm now. Just in general true farm boys seem more attuned to this when it concerns their ladies. YMMV ---
