In addition to Stranger’s points, note that there’s no water on Mars to consolidate the dust. By consolidate, I mean that the dust doesn’t stick together into larger chunks and also doesn’t stick to whatever it lands on. So the next dust storm will loft most of the same particles that covered the cache in the last one and there’s no significant buildup of dust from one storm to the next.
