I haven’t gotten through much, but very interesting reading so far!
I haven’t had any of the issues I read about at all, fortunately, but it’s something to keep in mind if something does come up.
And if I ever leave there, I’m taking my vet with me 
Yeah, it’s enough to know that they wouldn’t cover my current vet, as I have no intention of leaving her practice. She not only saved my cat’s life a couple years back, but she submitted me and got me accepted for charity consideration (the practice has a “Poor Pets Fund”), and gave me some considerable emotional and practical support, given that I was in the middle of chemo myself, and my cat got sick and I lost my job all in the same weekend (fired for being sick, and yes bossman knew that I was). That was an extremely unpleasant few months, all told, and she did a hell of a lot to make things a bit better.
