# Pet lovers' alert - dangerous pet food recalled

One of the cats I’ve seen had a single package of food on Friday, by Monday the cat was very sick. At this point the exact toxin is still unknown, so prognosis is open. Many acute renal failure cats will do great if a kidney transplant is done; economics are the main sticking point. Out of the hundreds of cases over my career where I’ve offered kidney transplant, I’ve had one pet owner pursue surgery.
