My last one, Lewis, was so undachshundlike. He was just a sweet little compliant lover who lived to make me happy, and I was delighted to reciprocate. So Ollie was somewhat of a rude surprise. He is classic dachshund. Attitude for days. If there’s something he doesn’t want to do, he assumes this very defiant stance, complete with the fixed stink eye. When he realizes he’s going to lose our battle of wills, he employs Cute Mode: He rolls onto his back and waves his paws in the air. “Adore me! I know you do!” I hate to admit how well it works. ---

They are precious and beautiful. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! Many years ago, I had a wonderful boa constrictor, name of Monty. He was chill and sweet and loved nothing more than wrapping himself around my middle. I was just a warm tree, so far as he was concerned.
