Thatā€™s encouragingā€“thanks. Nibberā€™s taken well to her thyroid meds and gained some weight. She was very unwell at one point, to the point where I had to carry her to food and water, and she could barely stand upright. Since then though sheā€™s gotten almost back to normal. I have to rotate her foods a bit but sheā€™s maintained a pretty good appetite. Her initial CKD diagnoses was stage 2, which edged into stage 3 after the thyroid treatment, so hopefully we still have a ways to go. ---

The thing is, when youā€™re home he can **really** rest, because he doesnā€™t have to protect the house from intruders. 'Cause youā€™re there to protect **him** , get it? Of course, there is the problem of intruders who come for both of you while heā€™s asleepā€¦ oh well, Iā€™ll think about that after my nap. ---

Woke up to a rare sight in San Antonio ā€“ several inches of snow. Hereā€™s my dog Sweetie gamely going out to pee at 4:00 AM (when ya gotta go, ya gotta go). Good doggie! Today is Presidentā€™s Day in New England. Another day off with Bob, who is currently lounging on the couch next to me, wistfully staring out the window. Itā€™s like 15 degrees outside, so he can stare all he likes - I ainā€™t going anywhere. Hereā€™s Bob with his ostrich bone before he turned most of it into aviary confetti on the rug. Say, hereā€™s a weird thing: that other little bone in front of him ā€¦ itā€™s this little rawhide thing - comes two to a bag. He could chew it up, swallow it, digest it and shit out in the backyard in about an hour, but heā€™s been toting it around the house for a month. Itā€™s like his security bone. Thereā€™s not a tooth mark on it. You donā€™t have to join it to read it. It is definitely a mish-mash of craziness, obsession, and some real knowledge of obscure topics. It can be visually overstimulating before your eyes figure out where to look. Hereā€™s the San Antonio subreddit for when you run out of other stuff to look at.
