# Petechia (red dots) around eyes...how long to go away?

Okay. So I was sick last night and threw up pretty hard. I now have tiny, freckle-like red dots on the skin around my eyes, which various web sites identify as “petechia,” sometimes caused by blood vessels broken during violent vomiting. That fits the bill.

My question, which I haven’t seen answered anywhere, is how long these will last. Days? Are they going to turn bruise-colored before they vanished?

Anyone else ever have this happen?

I got those from pushing for two hours when I had my first baby. As I recall they disappeared in a day or two.
