Pharmaceutical drug rep collectibles?

Oh, 100%. I LOVE that show. Would watch it more if I found it streaming somewhere. Thanks for the nudge- will look for it !

I know how Hefty bags are made. I know how Butterfinger bars are made. THAT little expedition cost me at least 10 years of being off of Butterfingers. No, there’s nothing dirty or wrong with the manufacturing process. In fact, the candy companies are amongst the most diligent in terms of clean work and manufactory areas I’ve ever shot.

I was sent out onto a catwalk over a wide rubber/ vinyl conveyor belt. This belt was at LEAST 12 feet wide. The room reeked of Butterfinger but in a hot cloying way. I set up the camera so that the conveyor belt appeared at the bottom of the frame, moving up and out of the top of frame.

Those of you who are fans of “Star Trek: TOS” will have a moment of frisson here. The enormous Horta- like hot blob of…Butterfinger center goop appears and slowly made its way out of the top of my shot. It wasn’t jiggling. It moved a bit. But, the enormity of it was horrific. That job was around 1987 and I bet I didn’t eat one again until after 2000…

I know how MobileWare styrofoam plates and bowls are made. I know how crude oil is “cracked” into individual chemical components, including pure sulfur.

I know what it looks like to transplant a human kidney into a recipient.

Good stuff !!

I wasn’t sure whether you’d enjoy the nudge or react as you did to the Butterfingers. Either “Oooh, nostalgic fun”, or “Meh, BTDT enough for a lifetime; I’d rather watch pr0n being made now.” Glad to hear it was the former.

Butterfingers were my Halloween fave growing up because I didn’t really like the flavor of chocolate as a kid, and they were one of the least chocolate-tasting chocolates out there. My true fave was Payday with zero chocolate, but those were rare in the Halloween assortments adults bought to give away.

Nowadays both are too sweet for my decrepit pancreas, so I admire them on the shelf and leave it at that. Ahh, memories of a less dietarily restricted time.

Assuming you’re talking about How It’s Made, it streams on MAX. About a year ago, I was working from home and left this playing in the background, usually on mute while I did work stuff. I think I got through the twentieth season. Note that it’s a Canadian series, and I believe the narration is a separate audio track, so that it can be played in any language. There are other similar shows. I remember a UK one that showed giant food factories, though the on-camera host/narrator was a tad annoying.

Including the specific rock you were looking for, the business name for these items are “Advertising Specialties.” Because they come in so many different forms, the number of middlemen between you and the manufacturer would violate the fire code for most public gathering places.
