They were going to come to Minneapolis to picket at the funerals. Well, funerals have now been held for most of the victims of the bridge collapse, with a couple more scheduled for early this week. But the Phelps clan never showed up to picket. According to a local newspaper, they contacted Shirley Pelps and asked her about it. She said they didn’t come because last time they were in Minnesota, they were treated so mean! (Brave Christian martyrs they ain’t, apparently – a little Minnesota mean scares them away!) * * * In fact, this is typical of this clan recently. They put out an outrageous press release, threatening to picket somewhere. The gullible news media goes ballistic over this, and gives it a huge amount of publicity. Then the Phelps’s sit comfortably at home; their goal accomplished without the inconvenience & expense of actually traveling & picketing. ---

Maybe they changed their mind about visiting Minnesota [because they’re just so busy planning their next protest in Utah](http://www.deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,695200231,00.html). ---

Wait a second. Why would they protest the mine collapse? A bunch of men going down in a big hole. Isn’t that UltraPremium Hetrosexuality? Oh, wait. All at once. DAMN THEM! Musta been a godless roman orgy every day in those mine pits, huh. ---

They picketted the memorial for the Sago miners too. Anything to get attention, I guess. ---
