I’m saying that part (by no means all) of the damage that Phelps does is that he discredits God and all religion when he does what he does. ---

Breaks my heart when there’s this kind of discord within the hate-based community. Why can’t they see that the hatred they have in common is more important than the hatred they disagree about? ---

That is the whole foundational problem with religion. Followers of most religions believe that they know what some wierd omnipotent E.T. thinks is right despite the fact that even if you believe their own fairytales (Tora, Talmud, Bible, etc.) the fucker hasn’t had much to say in a couple of thousand years. Fuck the last time he got really involved on earth he killed everybody except some 900 year old drunk and his family… Personally I have no I dea if some godlike being exists, but I promise if I ever run in to him I will let him/her/it know that I think he/she/it is a complete and total asshole. I mean how can anyone respect an absentee slumlord? ---

This thread is sort of cathartic. It reminds of the joke: Wife: Do these pants make my ass look fat? Husband: No. Your ass makes your ass look fat. What I mean is that Phelps does not make religion look bad, religion does that all on its own. I am not suggesting that there are not many many good people who follow various religions, but they are really outnumbered. ---
