Daughter Tallulah Hoffman, age 7

Daughter Willa Hoffman, age 5

Fuck. They will never be able to fully enjoy his acting legacy, because it will forever be tainted with the stink of overdose. Rarely will one be mentioned without the other.

What a massive waste of fine talent. Capote, Doubt and The Master were among my favorite movies, but really, as Drew says, anything he is in is worth seeing. Was. RIP PSH

He had 7 days left to shoot in Mockingjay Part 2(I guess they are filming both Hunger Games sequels together this time).

I assume they are close enough to finished to fill in his final parts with…creative editing, effects, etc.

Not to derail this.

He was a great talent. My first time seeing him was in Magnolia, at least my first time I remember.

One of the best screen actors ever. If you have any doubt, see “Doubt” where Meryl Streep, in a tour d’force herself, keeps up with him, but he manages to give better depth in every scene they are in together. A loss for his family, and for film nuts.

There’s a very potent shipment of heroin cut 50/50 with [fentanyl](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fentanyl) being peddled up and down the east coast, and a lot of people are shooting what they think is their normal fix, and ODing because of it.

I place a lot of the blame on the stupid so-called “War on Drugs”. But I don’t know if it’s appropriate to discuss this here in this thread. It’s basically because the cost and penalties of doing other drugs is so much higher than heroin that people have turned to Heroin when they can’t get other kinds of relief from pain. I would hope that most everyone understands why I would say that and who is to blame and that I should just leave it at that.

And it doesn’t make sense from a dealer point of view. They’re literally killing off their business.

I don’t understand addiction to these drugs but I understand how dangerous addictions are and it’s no secret people regularly die of heroin with the needle still in them.

I only saw the previews of Capote and he was impressive.

Selling a more powerful high wins the dealers more customers, plus they can charge more. Supposedly the deaths are actually driving business as junkies come looking for the killer fix.

I have to admit, my reasons for feeling sad that he died are entirely selfish. I wanted to see more out of him. I wanted to see him on the big screen again and again. I was just thinking about him the other day, and wondering what kind of wonderful roles he would have in the future. And now I’ll never see them. Goddamn it.

I don’t think they “cut” the heroin with fentanyl so much as mixed it with it for a more potent high.

Per the. [Daily Mail](http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2550694/The-troubled-months-tragic-Philip-Seymour-Hoffman-Oscar-winner-split-long-time-partner-refused-interviews-looked-ill-pale-Sundance.html) he had split from her last Autumn. Whole I usually believe the daily mail rather less than Pravda, on celeb news they are usually spot on.

Might explain why he fell off the wagon. A fine talented actor. RIP.

Unless its some unbranded counterfeit “fentanyl” being used or someone has hijacked a supply of it somehow. \<\< just my WAG.
