Check out the preview of [Microsoft Photosynth](http://labs.live.com/photosynth/default.html) , an application being developed at MS Live Labs that analyses digital photos, merges and presents them in a interactive 3D environment.

It would be interesting to let this loose on [flickr.com](http://flickr.com)… or on a series of frames from a video. It seems to be capable of creating a realistic 3D model of a location although this feature is not explicitly demoed.

Any thoughts on possible applications?
