What is the best free online site to learn PHP from? I am working on a project that was previously started by someone else. It was coded in PHP and I have never used PHP before. I do have experience programming with many other languages such as PERL, Javascript, Visual Basic, C++, and some others. Anyways I need to find the best site that will get me started. I tried googling for PHP tutorials and there are a ton out there but I want your opinions on the best one to use?

The documentation is excellent, for the most part, and nearly every function has user-added information such as gotchas and examples.

It’s the only PHP site in my bookmark list.

If you know what you want the code snippet to do, there are plenty of example sites, but for learning what something that is already made is meant to be doing, I don’t think you can go past the original site.

If someone can find me a tutorial on making sentences that make sense, please let me know.
