“Hugs and puppies”. I read it here and saw it also on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. “offenderati” can be used in Dutch, too. Often on the SDMB I see someone using an description of a behavior, that is so spot-on, I immediately wonder how I got by without that word. For instance, the kind of demonstrative mourning done in “silent marches” and road-side memorials, for instance, gave me an uneasy feeling I couldn’t quite put my finger on untill I saw someone here use the word "[“Power grieving”](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=7065938&highlight=road+side+memorials#post7065938). Power grieving. Of course, that’s it. “Attention whore” is another one. Finding such discriptions I mostly why I read the Pit. ---

“Quit hoggin’ all the stupid”, I think it was a Wallyism, I could be wrong. ‘Attention whore’, for sure. ‘Asshat, fuckwit’, of course. “Weapons grade Bullonium”, I don’t use it much, but I like it! ---

“Asshat” has become a regular word in my vocabulary. I don’t know if it originated here, but this is where I first saw the term used. Also, “glurge.” ---

Someone on OkCupid self-identified as being a liberal, and in her profile she said that she enjoyed talking about physics even though she didn’t understand it much. I responded that we should get together. “We could talk about what an asshat Bush is, then we can move on to string theory.” She gave me a very positive response, and thought asshat was the funniest word she ever heard. She then disappeared. ---

I am the proud owner of a DivaCup, mostly because of comments posted by Doper women. In [this TMI thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=366998&highlight=divacup+evangelical), **capybara** said that the DivaCup makes her “inappopriately evangelical at parties.” This phrase is permanently pasted in my mind, and still makes me giggle when I think of it. Don’t know what a DivaCup is? Go [here](http://www.divacup.com), and change your life. No, really! ---

From a Pit thread _ages_ ago, someone speculated that another poster must have “force evolved thumbs” in order to post on the SDMB. I love that. Somewhat more recently, in a thread about annoying cell phone users, a poster made a comment along the lines of “I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen someone get a call informing them that a kidney donor as finally been found… oh wait, yes I can, it’s NONE” which is an excellent point to make to people who seem to need a phone at the ready at all times in the event of an “emergency.” I wish I remembered the posters who said these, they really made an impression! ---
