It might also be influenced by the “nowcast” which was a glittery way of saying “current weather conditions.” So they might have used “futurecast” so people wouldn’t confuse it with the “nowcast”. ---

I’m in a Zoom conference about our company’s web presence, and the speakers are using “holistic” way too much. Yes, our various web utilities do have a lot of moving parts, but “holistic” just means it’s all under our domain name. There’s no need to make yourself sound smarter by repeating this redundancy. ---

I appreciate you posting this. I never say “Thank you for your service” for all the reasons you stated, plus I figure sometimes you really do just want to get your business done and leave without obligatory conversations with strangers. But I always wonder if I’m being judged or labeled as “Ungrateful Bitch” for not saying it.
