Lately I have been really enjoying the solo piano work of Jason “Gonzales” Beck. I guess he’s generally known as a rap and electronic artist, but he released an album called _Solo Piano_ in 2004 and recently made a world record for the longest solo musical performance.

Anyway, his [piano music](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g15t4zLbrEo) is really [beautiful](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7UisSFHeOs), and I’m wondering if anyone can recommend more pieces that sound like these.

That album’s been reviewed as 21st century [Satie](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erik_Satie) and I sorta agree. So, try the original. I recommend the [performances](http://www.amazon.com/Satie-Gymnopedies-Other-Piano-Works/dp/B0000041P2) by Pascal Roge. Yet I, too, am looking for similar _contemporary_ offerings.
