The little electric-razor looking phaser from the original Star Trek. You can stun, kill, or vaporize ppl/animals/objects. Versatile. I’d rather have a teleporter/replicator/holodeck/Green Lantern ring/ring of power, but rules and all that. . . ---

Well, I work with small children and am studying to become a junior high English teacher, which means I clearly should not be trusted with weapons, lest I use them on my colleagues or, worse, my young charges. So as tempting as a light saber or a blaster would be, I’m afraid I need to go for something tamer. Can I have a fire lizard? A blue one? ---

Well a hand phaser would be pretty damn useful, but I think I’d go for Nessus’s Tasp from **Ringworld**. It would not only be great fun at parties, but would probably make me both rich and invincible… ---

After that…hmmm, is there anything like the Star Trek [“Dermal Regenerator”](http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Dermal_regenerator) that’s more versatile, or at least works on nerve tissue? I mean, there’s a lot of good I could do with that…or creative pranks. Like sneaking up on militant Deaf culturalists, and restoring their hearing to peak “normal,” or even _superhuman_ levels. 😃 ---
