Or, in her case, she’s a Methodist that still goes to Sikh ceremonies to keep her parents happy. ---

Hutchinson does have a very Thatchery elder stateswoman quality about her (which Palin most certainly did not). She’s also pro-choice and opposes overturning Roe v. Wade. There’s no way in hell Romney would pick her as VP for that reason alone. ---

Whoever it is I feel strongly they have to be more conservative than Romney and Evangelical for it to do any good. I would’ve said Santorum (yeah, I know he’s Catholic but he says things the Evangelicals like) but the contraception crazy talk pretty much kills that idea. ---

Kills it for you (and for me), but it’s a plus for a hell of a lot of other people in this country. It’s just that those are the kind of people that I suspect you and I rarely come across. ---

My recommendation as a hypothetical paid consultant would be Mike Huckabee. I think Romney, if nominated, would choose either Bob McDonnell (Virginia governor, John Thune (South Dakota Senator), or Chris Christie (New Jersey gov) as running mate. ---

Rand Paul. Southern, more conservative than Mitt. As a newly elected senator, can claim not to be an insider. All the Tea Party / Libertarian cachet of his dad but with less non-independant-voter compatible baggage. He can be his own man, or, as may be the case, Romney’s man. ---
