Just call it an ‘offsite meeting’, **Ex**. Don’t forget to take your hot pants. At this one place I usta work the cost accountant and I usta have ‘offsite meetings’ all the time, in his boat. **Lissla** , I hear they have actual streetcars in Toronto. Do they go anywhere near your place? 😃 **FCM** , The Missus made reverse chocolate chips this morning, chocolate fudge cookies with white choco chips, an’ I snitched a trio of the the delightful discs. Yum. I think brownies sound like a sterling idea. Today’s our long day at the shop, open 'til 8pm, so we’ll go out to eat, or order in. I’m wondering what we should have. We have 2 Chinese, a Thai, 2 Mexican, and an Italian restaurant within walking distance, plus a couple of pizza places. Hmmmmmm, decisions, decisions. Maybe I should get lunch out of the way first? ---

I wish I was home alone instead of here at work. Brownies for dinner sounds good to me! If I was home alone I could do that. I’d like to leave work early so I could go look at a new coffee and end tables. But…well, although the boss is away, this mouse won’t play. Now that we’re done painting the great room, I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, hate the tables that are in there. They look so cheesey, ugly and dorky! So, I’ve decided that I am getting new tables now, new boat be damned! I won’t spend as much as I had planned on spending, and I’ll obviously look for sales and good deals, but I AM getting tables. Watch, now that I am actively looking again, I won’t find any I like for a long time. That’s how it always works for me. Happy Friday! ---

Remember I said I was totally redecorating? Back about two weeks ago? Well, in all that time I have managed to get the foyer painted. I know, it doesn’t sound like much, does it? But I first had to remove hideous wallpaper, then scrub down the walls, then prime them, then sand down the woodwork and prime THAT, then I did a two-coat colorwash which I didn’t love, so I did an additional sponge-coat, and NOW I love it. On to the ex-dining room now! Funny how every fix-up project leads to more fix-up projects, huh? I’m gonna hop in the shower and then sit by the phone and wait for **swampy** to call me. ---

And just like magic, the phone rang. **Swampy** made it in safely. He was getting ready to take a shower when he called. I do not know HOW ready he was when we talked. _\_ I am also going to have to take a shower, because while investigating a SPIDER who had the nerve to start building a nest on my freshly painted shiny white woodwork, I stuck my hair in wet paint. Which is the sort of thing that always happens to me. Anyway. I sucked the spider into the shop vac, and now I have to touch up little stupid spider footprints. And now I shall proceed to get clean and cute for this evening’s festivities. Happy Friday! ---

Brownies are baking. Critters are fed. Spousal unit is safely at Mom’s house. It’s still too wet to do anything outside. I’m about to shed my work clothes and settle in for the evening in fuzzy robe and slippers. Which is a good second choice to dining with **swampy**! Have fun, **LOW**!! ---

Ya know, sometimes I really resent being employed by an organization where I can’t read the board and post during the workday… It really gets me behind in the MMP! Clearly they don’t understand my priorities. Anyhoo… **Rue** , if you’re still reading this, please don’t sulk and pout on my account. Pleeeeeaaaase? I would REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY (is that enough REALLYs for you?) like to attend TornaDope II, but the convergence of the evil work project (implementation date 7/1) with the Carribean wedding of Local Best Friend (coming 6/5 - yes it’s on a Sunday - to an island near…well…anyone who lives in Florida) with prime volunteering season (I’m an officer, so I gots responsibilities and stuff) makes it highly unlikely that I can make it this year. HOWSOMEVERWHICH, I solemnly promise, if the amount of stressation brought on by aformentioned convergence happens to be lower than anticipated, there is an outside, albeit very small, chance, that I will make an appearance. Have I mentioned I’m glad it’s Friday? Anyway - **Tupug** , the froggies were potato and onion and I decided to eat them because I had an open box in the freezer and I didn’t want them to succumb to freezer burn. Also, there was frozen sketti sauce, so dinner required virtually no work. But they were definitely non-traditional. **Lissla,** I’m pretty sure I can hear them replacing tracks all the way down here. Could you tell them to pipe down? (It’s very strange, I think one of the neighbors is using some type of saw; it’s a very annoying rather high-pitched noise). Decorating: I’m pretty sure that it’s been scientifically proven that if you start to re-do one small thing (say, the curtains) 93.9% of the time you wind up re-doing the entire house, including the exterior. **LOW** , have fun meeting **Swampy**! Me, I’m contemplating everything I need to get done this weekend (sadly including stuff for the evil work project - EWP - such a lovely acronym; sounds kind of like…hmm…an upset tummy). Plus I’m actually hoping for lots of stuff done in various and sundry gardens. And maybe some shopping. Perhaps replacing those ratty shoes. Happy weekend everyone! Stuff some through the computer for me. I need brownies. I like the streetcar. It’s slowish, and nicely old-fashioned. Better than the subway. But right now they’re replacing the tracks and the road, and I hate it. Dinner time. I wonder what I’ll make? Oh, the TTC (Toronto Transit Commision, in charge of all public transport) is going on strike on Monday. That will leave approximately 1 million people a day stranded, including Mr. Lissar and me if I want to get downtown. This is complicated. Going out dancing tonight w/Driving Husband. ---

So probably hardly anybody is going to read this post, but I feel I must back up **scout** on the skirt issue. It’s not the most horrendous skirt ever, if you’re a silly fifteen year old or Paris Hilton, or a regular young woman who’d have the sense required to not wear those gag a goat fish nets and Miami prostitute heels. Also, the moo shoes are okay if you are wearing them ironically, or with child-like whimsy. If you’re taking them seriously, then you probably think Donatella Versace is the queen of fashion and there’s just no helping loonies like you. **Lissla** , I feel for you sweetums. The week before spring break maintainence decided to dig up some concrete thing right outside my classroom door. Eight hours of non-stop noise and shouting to be heard over that rackett. Have you bought good ear plugs or are they avoiding your sleep schedule? ---

And no, you will never see that picture of me from prom. I have tracked down every last copy except the one my mom has on her wall. Come this summer, I’m gonna put something in her drink and steal that last print while she’s out cold on the sofa. Then, I can deny it ever happened and who’s gonna be able to prove otherwise? My evil plans are superior because I keep them simple, ya know. And I don’t go explaining everything to the good guys while I’ve got them tied to stuff… Oops. ---

Ya know, I was watching that show once, and they were ragging on overshorts - and I happened to be wearing a pair when they did so. Ugh. Anyway, the skirt could be cute - but definitely not the way they are showing it. Nothing looks good with flourescent green fishnets. Susan ---

I’ve no idea what overshorts are, but while What Not To Wear is usually spot on, they can make mistakes. Have you noticed they’re still putting people into pointy toe shoes? It’s round toes this season people, _round_! They also suck at dressing anyone over a size 12. So it’s entirely possible you looked stunning in those overshort thingies, **susan**. ---

What are overshorts? Why is my cat being affectionate? What Not To Wear thinks that skirts over jeans are a good idea. I strongly disagree. It shouldn’t interfere too much with my sleep schedule, but I’m worried about Mr. Lissar. They may, of course, start drilling at 8 tomorrow morning. I will go out and shoot them with evil space rayguns or something. ---

**The Swampy Report** by LifeOnWry …or maybe I’ll just make you all suffer in antici… pation. Naaah. OK, so first I tried to pick **swampy** up in front of what I thought was the hotel, but turned out to be an office building sharing the hotel’s parking lot. He wasn’t there, he was in front of the hotel. Silly him. I eventually found him anyway. Then I got the stuffin’ hugged out of me. He’d been rehearsing dinner all night already, so we went out for pie and coffee. Not exactly showing him the town, but it was real good pie. Mine came with a shovel. **Swampy** used a fork - he’s such a gentleman! Then, I DID show him the town. In minute, excruciating detail. With lots of U-turns so he could see stuff he mighta missed on the first pass. At one point we passed Ikea and **swampy** said, “Hey! I’ve been there! I know where we are!” That made one of us. Unfortunately, the one of us who wasn’t entirely sure where we were was the one driving. The Irish pub we were looking for had apparently been beamed back to Ireland, but we found a nifty rah-rah sports bar full of young, pretty people (including us, of course.) I had soda with lime cuz I drive SO much better when I’m sober :rolleyes: **Swampy** had beers, so now he’s **swampbeer**. We chitted, we chatted, we giggled and **swampy** showed me his patented Look, which was kinda cool cuz one eyebrow goes up higher than the other one and I have never figured out how to do that. The bill came, delivered by a pretty young boy named Keith who had a very confused file folder and a metal life preserver (you hadda be there.) Then, we decided that since tomorrow is a Big Day for **swampy** , we’d better get him into bed. That doesn’t sound right, does it? But I’m sure you know what I mean. “Aha!” I said, “I know where we are! All we have to do is turn here and your hotel will be coming up on the left!” So a couple minutes later we pulled into the hotel parking lot… on the right. Once again, I got the stuffin’ hugged out of me. And then AGAIN! And a little smooch, too. He’s a wonderful, charming man, no matter what anyone else says. And he’s a cheap date, too. Beer and cookies? Heh. This man can only be had for beer and PIE. \*Thanks for a great evening, **swampy**. Sorry about the extended Tour Of Schaumburg. 🙂 \* ---

Sadly, I never get to see What Not to Wear, but I agree that the skirt over jeans look is not a good one. Are overshorts the loose shorts you wear over biking (or other tight-fitting, longer) shorts? Don’t really see anything wrong with that. And **Ashes** , WE DEMAND TO SEE THE PROM PICTURE! Can’t be any worse that the rare 7th and 8th grade pictures of me in braces. I was not graceful and lovely at that age. GT ---
